Experience the Art of New York City


If you are usually underpriviledged in experiencing great art, then maybe while you’re in New York City, you can have New York’s supreme pleasure by taking the All Loops Tour with MoMA presented by Gray Line New York Sightseeing. Even the buildings in the area of New York City offer so much fun in an art vacation. A photography buff would feel ecstatic just by merely walking around, taking snapshots of the structural designs and daily life of New York locals.


If you’re fascinated in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, it’s child-friendly. If you have babies with you, you can use strollers or borrow baby carriers. They also accommodate any person from child to adult with special needs. Offered in this museum are guided touch tours, sign language, transcriptions in huge print, audio guides, the free use of wheelchairs, or aid to persons with mobility impairments.


A store and dining facilities are available in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Moreover, it has a library and study centers, copying machines, first aid, sketching materials and lost and found department. But then, you are not permitted to make use of the camera flash or perform video taping.


It is free admission for children under age 12, however, there is admission for adults. Students can have access for $10. Adult’s admission fee is $65, whilst only $15 for those 65 years old and older. At the coat-check area, everyone is required by the staff to leave their bags, umbrellas, backpacks and large packages.


Art galleries are to be found all over the city of New York. There are statues which add charm to the the different areas of the city, not to mention the natural art in the numerous gardens of the area. You may be fortunate enough to watch some talented artists in the city’s busy parks. There are sure to be some talented street performers who draw or paint for tips.


Finding art galleries that are open may depend on the time of day you choose to view the art. A number of galleries are open only by means of appointment. There are almost endless list of galleries all through uptown, downtown, midtown, and in-between.


If Black and White Art is your thing, you may find a gallery meant for that on 28th Street. On MacArthur Blvd is American Painting. NW and another is on East 6th Street. They are open during Wednesdays through Saturdays from 11 am to 7 pm. Gallery 49 only shows classified viewings. Ubu Gallergy is by appointment only. Pace Prints on East 57th Street is open Tuesdays through Fridays from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm, and Saturdays from 10 am to 5 pm. The Gitterman Gallery on East 75th Street is open Wednesdays through Saturdays from 11 am to 6 pm.
